Genmaicha

Brewing Tips

A bancha green tea platform mixed with whole roasted and popped grains of rice which gives it a roasted flavour. The japanese bancha is naturally low in caffeine.

Ingredients: Japanese green tea, brown rice, puffed rice.

Good quality Genmaicha

This is a good quality genmaicha. The bancha, rice and popcorn ratios are well balanced, giving a nice mellow taste. After repeated brews, I found the rice starts to dissolve (a little) into the tea, adding more flavours of roasted rice. I've not seen this in other genmaicha i've had, but i think it's a nice touch as you get less of the caffeine from the bancha but keep the roasted rice flavours characteristic of this tea type. I start drinking this in the late afternoon and it can last me through the evening with repeated brews.

The best

I first had this in Shanghai and loved it. This is every bit as good and I’m delighted to get it locally.

Amazing tea!

Just the perfect balance between a roasty "pop-corn" taste and the subtle flavour of a high quality Japanese green tea. I'm very pleased!
