Vanilla organic - classic organic vanilla flavour at its best!
I was looking for a plastic free alternative to my favourite bed time brew. This is an excellent replacement and tastes lovely.
It comes in a compostable bag which is in a cardboard tube. I do wonder if shibui could cut down on packaging even more though.
The vanilla in this tea is really nicely balanced - not over powering, but absolutely present and goes perfectly with the rooibos. If you like the sound of this tea then I'd highly recommend it.
Love vanilla, love Rooibos, love this one!
A really lovely tea with a great flavour. Fast delivery and reasonably priced
Seriously, it's better than all the major brands available, to the point that the partner steals sips when I put it down. If you are looking for a decaf tea after dinner that is like a dessert and a smooth delight this is the tea.
Even though everything from this company is 100% recyclable, I would strongly recommend that they put the recycling label on the plastic look alike bag, this way when costumers recycle it is not considered plastic at the facilities.
The table below shows the approximate brewing/infusing times for the different tea types.
It assumes around a 2.5 to 3g serving but it is not an exact science so experiment to find the perfect brew time to suit you.
It is best to use freshly boiled water - so if you've got some water left in your kettle from before - pour it out and start again!
|Tea Type||Approx Brewing Time (mins)||Water Temperature|
If you don't have a fancy kettle which heats the water to different temperatures then a tip to for brewing green & white teas is to put the boiling water into the teapot or mug first and then add the tea. It will have cooled down a bit just by touching the cold teapot. That's what I do anyway...
