A very popular tea in China called Zhucha - meaning pearl tea. Green tea leaves are rolled into small pearls which keeps the leaves fresher for longer. A wonderfully smooth green tea with a hint of smokiness.

    Ingredients: Chinese green tea.

    Great tea, great service

This gunpowder tea has seen me transition from 2 coffees a day to 2 a week. I love my morning cup of green tea thanks to Shibui.

    Fabulous flavour and no bitterness!

I drink green tea becuse it is so good for the digestive system but I have never really enjoyed it...until I went to Söderberg Café in Soho, London where I enjoyed a pot of the Gunpowder. What a surprise, it is so delicious and I am completely sold on it. One of the staff members told me they pour a little bit of cold water on the leaves before pouring the boiling water on top and this stops any bitterness coming through. Not sure if this a fact or if the tea is naturally bitter free but it is certainly delicious.

So I thought I didn't like green tea...

...but following a trip to Wagamama I decided to give it another go, and I'm so pleased I did. This is my new go-to tea for drinking through the day. The key for me is not to use to much. Just a third of a teaspoon or so in a mug gives me a really light refreshing drink.

    A balanced and fine tea

When steeped for a few minutes, it displays powerful aromas of spring flowers enhanced by woody and malty notes. A very rich and flavoursome tea, which is excellent for energy boost both in the early morning and /or afternoon.
